Giving Back!

On December 29, my last sale of the year, Savvy Chic reached profitability! Today I'm making my first 10% donation to Redline United (www.redlineunited.org). Sure, it's only $20, but I'm so excited by what it represents. This will hopefully be the first check of many!

When I started the Savvy Chic Boutique in the fall, I didn't know how long it would take to reach profitability, but I did know that once I reached that point, I wanted to give 10% of all profits to Redline United, the non-profit organization that helped bring my niece and nephew, Lera and Vitalik, into our family.  They help bring many Ukrainian orphans home to their forever families.

Of course I could have written a check for $20 to Redline United last summer and skipped all this!  But my hope is that I'm establishing a business that I love, which can also continually give back to an organization that I believe in.  Just think, at least the next few sales will be 100% profit, and 10% of total sales will be able to go to Redline United!

Hello Savvy Chicks!!  That's the new term I've coined for all my happy Savvy Chic customers, so I hope you like it!  This Saturday, each shopper who brings one or more friends will receive  "1 item 50% off" coupons for herself and each of her friends.  Bring as many friends as you like!

Over the last few months, I have heard so many great comments from Savvy Chicks who are feeling happy and confident in their new clothes.  While I would love to take all the credit and say it's my excellent taste that has resulted in all these successful purchases, that's not the complete picture.

 The most important thing to remember this time of year, is that the joy is in the giving not the getting.  My niece Lera, who was adopted with her brother Vitalik about a year and a half ago, has decided to paint gift bags as a way of raising money for another brother/sister pair who are being adopted from the same orphanage.

The gift bags are $20 for a set of 5, and 100% of the proceeds will support the adoption.  Checks can be made to Redline United as a tax-deductible donation.  They will be available at my next sales, or you can email me to buy a set.
